We Made it to The Hamptons

Accidentally slept in a little this morning so we didn't leave Somerset until almost 10:00. The drive through Pennsylvania is beautiful.

The long tunnels through the mountains were a surprise to the kids. Don't have those in Oklahoma...

After several hours on the road, including driving through ugly Newark, NJ we saw the NYC skyline.

This Home Depot was right next to the Holland Tunnel entrance. Just very interesting to us, since we are used to big Home Depots with tons of space at home.

We ended up going through the Holland Tunnel. Still creeps me out to know we are under the Hudson River. Also don't like it becuase they squeeze 6 lanes of traffic down to 2 before entering the tunnel. Those NY drivers are crazy!

After a very long time trying to make our way through the parts of New York City I had never seen including Queens and the Bronx, we finally made it to the Hamptons. Quick dinner, a change of cloths, and we were on Coopers Beach in Southampton. It was 6:00 so hardly anyone was there. The beach and ocean are BEAUTIFUL! The water is FREEZING! It was 58degrees in the water today. Needless to say, we didn't really get in the water but really enjoyed the beach. Glad to be here and share this with my family :-)
